JOJOLIE x BURBERRY CLUTCH

Look carefully... see anything interesting??

The $5.74 price tag?

The WINNER?

(That's ME btw)

(oops, my screenshot accidentally captured me changing the volume lol)

(and no, this is not an ad. I am posting out of pure excitement!)

YES! I bought a Burberry clutch for only $5.74!!!!!

So a few days ago, I stumbled on this website called JoJolie where it's an auction based system to buy authentic designer purses for CHEAP. Like ridiculously cheap. This clutch originally retailed for $895 (in my head I'm thinking yeah right.... who'd pay that much for this small thing??) and online it currently retails for $399.95 cheapest price on eBay. The only thing is it costs a little under a $1 to bid each time and you get 5 free bids if I'm not mistaken when you sign up.

I used a total of 2 of my free bids tonight and won this damn thing.

I couldn't believe it.

A lot of it is luck and a lot of it is timing, ladies. This was only my second attempt using this system. My first being 2 days ago where I wasted a click on accident when trying to refresh the page, and then someone outbid me and the auction ended.

Anyways, a small part of me is expecting this to me some crazy scam because this sounds too good to be true.

Go sign up under me please so I can get some free bids :] JoJolie.com

*UPDATE* I have received my clutch and it is indeed 100% authentic! SO awesome!

SINGAPORE x COMPUTER PROBLEMS

I will be leaving for Singapore in 7 days!!!

I am ultra excited as this will be my second overseas trip this year. If there are any bloggers from Singapore out there who'd like to do a swap or a meetup, let me know asap! And if you have any recommendations on what I should visit and where to eat, pleeeeeaaaaseeeee share!

I am going partially as a vacation and partially to visit a few advertising agencies, newspapers and magazines to scope and absorb the media environment there.

---
In other news, my one-year-old computer decided to bail on me today. I was doing literally, absolutely nothing when it froze. I rebooted and now the system runs at the pace of a snail. It's slower than my first computer I had in 5th grade. It takes almost 5 seconds to respond if I just right click on the desktop.

Windows Vista -- I hate you.

But luckily for me, my trusty Macbook Pro is alive and well and helping me through this mess. Especially when it's the last week of school and I've got loads of tests and projects to be concerned with. Arghhhhh!

Anyhows, Singapore ladies, hollar at me!

FREE x NOSE JOB

Have you ever contemplated cosmetic surgery? It's not something that's really ever crossed my mind but I do find it fascinating how many people actually get it nowadays, particularly in Korea and Iran, etc. Looking into the mirror, I wonder what exactly I would change. My eyelids are a little uneven, and uh, other than that, I resemble my mother -- which I like. But of course, curiosity is free and a little time in Photoshop can't hurt ;]

Can you spot the difference?

I did a little nose augmentation. The left side is me, and the right is...well, digitally altered me. I heightened the bridge a tad and added a slight bump to the tip the nose so that it's not so straight.

My curiosity is duly satiated.

HALLOWEEN x BOO

Forever 21 tank; Forever 21 Twist skirt; Armani Exchange jacket; Guess shoes; Vampfangs.com fangs; Sephora Girl lashes

Hope everyone had a great Halloween :] This was my lazy costume I threw together last minute. Pretty much, I decided I was going to be a vampire and decided to buy some fangs, then threw on whatever garb I had and called it a day.

Not an advertisement, but I just want to say I LOVE my fangs and Vampfangs.com! I ordered them Monday night near midnight (last minute decision), they shipped it first thing Tuesday morning and I got them on Thursday! These are veneers and you have to use a paste that's included to make a mold of your tooth so that they snap on and off. SO easy and SO natural looking! I loved them!

My friends and I went down to 6th Street (bar street in Austin), which is usually jam packed with people decked out in costumes, but for some reason this year it was TWICE as packed. For about 3 blocks straight, I couldn't tell where I was going because I was literally swimming in a sea of people. I lost my group probably 3 or 4 times within walking just 2 blocks! I think it took a total of 20 minutes just to walk through something that usually would've taken 2 minutes. Insane!

Would love to know what all of you guys did and what you dressed up as!

COWBOY HAT x GEO NUDY QUARTER x UCHI

Wearing: ::codes combine tank; Forever 21 skinny jeans; R2 gladiator sandals; cowboy hat from somewhere in China; GEO Nudy Quarter lenses in gray

Here are some close ups of the GEO Nudy Quarter lenses in gray:

To be honest, I didn't actually intend to purchase these. When I was doing research on what circle lenses I wanted to buy, I thought the pattern on the Nudy Quarters were too texturized looking and didn't like them. Well, I bought these lenses while I was in China this summer before I actually did any research and didn't even realize I had the Nudy Quarters till I tried them on :D

The end result is okay, I usually tend to lean towards lenses that look a bit more natural and these are definitely not natural looking, especially in daylight. But they aren't as bad as I thought and I'm getting used to them. Plus they are pretty comfy to wear. However, the "nudy" effect isn't as dramatic as certain photos online emphasize them to be. For example:

Maybe it's because my iris is already pretty large, but even when I did the whole looking up or looking to the side thing, the effects were minimal.

This weekend, I went to eat at Uchi (for the umpteenth time), my favorite restaurant in the entire world! They have a menu they update daily based on whatever is fresh in the market that day. It's a modern and edgy take on Japanese food. Don't go there thinking you can order the usual California Roll and banana tempura.

machi cure - maplewood-smoked baby yellowtail with yucca chips, asian pear, marcona almonds and garlic brittle.

tempura shiki - a seasonal vegetable collection including green onions and persimmons! The persimmons were definitely my favorite, tempura battered it was like a tomato meets sweet potato mix.

sasami yaki - oak-grilled chicken breast with lemongrass and cilantro. Probably the most juicy and tender chicken I've had, EVER.

bond roll - avocado, sundried tomato, white soybean paper. Arguably Uchi's simplest and best roll. It's a staple item I must order every single time I go there. Oh, and the sushi there always comes with its own sauce, no soy sauce required (but it's there if you want it) :]

pitchfork roll - wagyu beef and fresh avocado with tonburi land caviar and leek crisps. It's like eating steak with rice :]

okashi - carrot mousse, cashew sorbet, kaffir lime, curry oil. Definitely one of their more eclectic desserts. The waiter described it as a "Thai version of a carrot cake," which I would have to disagree. There wasn't so much of a carrot cake, but you could definitely taste every other element. Eitherway, it was good, but nowhere near as good as the desserts on their regular menu.

Not bad photos from and iPhone, right? Haha I worked out a lighting system where we use one phone as a light source and the other phone as a camera. Makes my food photos look slightly more dynamic, at least for coming out of a phone :]

tata!

WELCOME FALL x WEBSITE

The start of fall is looming around the corner and along with it comes stormy weather to make the transition possible. These past two weeks have been filled with thunderstorms and sunless days, but I can't complain. It's an escape from the heat of Texas and I love fall weather! Scarves and layering is finally here!

Forever 21 tee & tank; Express shorts; H&M scarf; Urban Outfitters belt; Michael Kors shoes

I ran into my friend Natalia on campus on the same day and we just had to take a photo together because coincidentally, she was donned in all black and I in all white. I absolutely love her tights! She has a blog as well, which you can find here: http://nataliaciolko.com/blog/

Over the weekend I launched my updated and redone photography portfolio website which can be found here: www.liang-shi.com

I also have a photo blog which can be found here, but currently it is awaiting an update :] Which I will work on right now!

HOUSEWARMING PARTY x EXAMS

Wearing: (No brand) denim jacket; H&M dress, CS'CS flats; Lancome tote bag; Forever 21 headband; Necklace from an underground subway shop in Shanghai

My roommate and I had a housewarming party not too long ago. Allow me to introduce you to her:

Meet Pia! In case you've been wondering, she is the one I usually pester to take photos of me, that or I set up my camera on self-timer.

Anyways, it was a night of refreshments, games and fun amongst us all. It took probably an entire month to finish moving in, clean up and decorate, so this was our unveiling!

Drinks, anyone?

Attempting to look swanky. My swanky expression is a fail.

We played charades for a bit.

My dog, looking cuter than usual.

A fun game of taboo!

It's gonna be a crazy week. I had a test last Friday, and I have 2 tests this week, and 1 next week plus an article due. So excuse me if my updates are sporadic :[ I'm trying to update at least once a week, but my goal is twice a week.

I went to LUSH this weekend and picked up quite a large haul. Will update about that next post with some in-depth reviews hopefully :]

ALSO! This is random but, currently working on a video how-to on.............

*drum roll please*

HOW TO UNCLOG YOUR TOILET WITHOUT A PLUNGER! (Just learned this tonight... hahaha).

Until then, take care, everyone!
